Everest Base Camp Kalapathar Trek Itinerary Expand All Close All

Upon your arrival, our World Expedition representatives will be waiting to receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport. After a warm gesture, they transfer you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. You will meet your trekking guide today depending upon the time of your arrival. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The trek starts with an early morning flight will take you to Lukla Airport where you will meet the rest of the team members. You will notice the sudden change in the environment right after stepping at Lukla Airport. As you put on your steps at Lukla, the air seems more pristine and you can feel it. The trek then goes downhill towards Dudh Koshi River. After that you will walk through green landscapes and a gradual walk takes you to Phakding Village. The view of Kusum Kangararu will be welcoming you throughout the way. Overnight at Phakding.

After an early morning breakfast at Phakding. The trial ascends towards Namche Bazaar which is known as one of the highest altitude market of the world. You will walk through the bank of Dudh Koshi River and cross several suspension bridges on your way. On your trek today you will pass by Monjo Village where you will pass by the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. The trials go through several Sherpa villages, dense forests and landscapes. A final steep climb will take you to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Proper acclimatization helps your body to adopt the oxygen content in the air and reduces the risk of altitude sickness. It is very important while trekking to Everest Base Camp. For this, you will have a leisure day at Namche today. However, Acclimatization doesn’t mean staying idle. You won’t climb further heights but you will be roaming around in the same elevation for some hours. Namche Bazaar is an amazing place to hangout. There are numbers of restaurants, lodges and internet cafes. You can hike to Everest View Hotel which provides the best view of Everest and popular for sunrise view. You can have the first glimpse of Everest from there. You can also visit Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum at Namche Bazaar.Overnight at Namche.

After breakfast we commence our today’s trek with short gradual walk until it goes down to Phungi Thanga. After that the trials goes uphill ascending through dense forest of Rhododendron and pine trees. The mesmerizing views of towering peaks, Everest (8848m) Nuptse (7855m) Lhotse (8618m) Amadablam (6856m) Thamserku (6608m) Kwongde (6187m) and Tawache(6542m) will be complementing you along the way. Upon reaching Tengboche you will visit the largest monastery of Khumbu region, Tengboche Monastery. The views from here are awe-inspiring. Overnight at Tengboche.

The trek to Dingboche begins after a short breakfast. The trial first descends through a beautiful forest after then cross Imja River via suspension bridge. The trial today is probably the easiest of your trek but you may encounter dusty trials along the way. You can spot the local animals grazing in the fields during the trials. Your overnight stay will be in Dingboche.

Today is the second acclimatization day at Dingboche. You will have a short hike to Nagarjun Hill. It is a hill located on the flanks of the Chukkung valley above Dingboche. Remarkable views of the mountains which include Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m) can be seen from the hill. If you’re lucky enough you can also see the world’s fifth highest mountain Mt. Makalu. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

After breakfast; the trek begins for the first one hour the trek goes steep and then goes gentle until Thugla. Along the trials splendid views of the snow capped peaks can be seen. After a short break at Thugla for lunch you’ll continue to the steep trial that takes you to the Thugla Pass from Pheriche. There you can see the stone memorials in the memory of unfortunate climbers who lost their life during Everest Expedition. A short gradual walk from here will take you to Lobuche. It is a small settlement near Mount Everest. Overnight at Lobuche.

After an early morning breakfast you will head towards Gorakshep. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Gorakshep from Lobuche. The trial is steep and you’ll have to cross multiple moraines. After crossing Changri Nup and Changri Shar Glacier you will reach to Gorak Shep.
Gorak Shep to EBC, back to Gorakshep.
You will have a short rest at Gorak Shep and then the final trek to Everest Base Camp begins. You will be reaching the destination of your bucket list in few hours. The trial gently goes upward and steep. You can see the breathtaking view of the Khumbu Icefall along the trial.

Today you will hike to the highest view point on earth which is Kalapatthar (5545m). The summit of Mt.Everest is not visible from the Base Camp itself. To view the summit of Mt.Everest you will have to hike to Kalapatthar.It is one of the best view points on earth. The walk is about 2 hours from Gorakshep. From there you can see the wonderful views of the giant snow peaks. The Mt.Everest looks absolutely stunning from there. After spending some time there we will return back to Pheriche. It is a small village and popular stop for trekkers and mountaineers. Overnight at Pheriche.

You will be only loosing heights from now. After breakfast you will trek back to Tengboche retracing the same routes. Sometimes trekking down could be risky so, you must be careful and listen to your guide. Overnight in Tengboche.

You will step forward to Monjo after breakfast. The trial consists of both uphill and downhill trials where you will pass by different forests, villages and meadows. You will have a short break at Namche Bazaar and then again walk back to Dudh Koshi river valley which takes you to Monjo. Overnight at Monjo.

After having breakfast at Mojo you will trek back to Lukla. The walk is quite easier but you have to go through uphill and downhills. The trek ends here. You will have your last day in Everest region. Overnight at Lukla.

An early morning flight with short scenic views of the mountains will drop you to Kathmandu Airport. Our representatives of world expedition Nepal will be waiting for you there. They will transfer you to the respective hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu
